10 tips to help you overcome Insomnia.

One of the most common questions that I get asked is Tips to Overcome Insomnia. Here is the list of 10 Tips that have personally helped me.

1. Limit the consumption of Coffee ☕️, alcohol, and smoking a few hours before bed.

2. Have an early dinner which helps you digest the food and ensure that no energy is spent on digestion.

3. Create a sleep ritual in which all the activities will be focused on being relaxed. I used to follow a drawing with my daughter the practice of Zentangle. You could also suggest listening to soft music. Any activity that is relaxing should be tried.

4. The practice of gratitude is recommended because it puts your brain in a mode where it should not be worried about any danger.

5. Many times, people don’t sleep because of the pending things or tasks. The widely suggested recommendation is to write down the pending tasks on paper. If things come on the bed say to yourself that things are written in the book.

6. The game changer was doing something called breath meditation. You will find a lot of benefits other than better sleep with meditation. But a word of caution is meditation is not a short-term fix. It takes time for the practice to consolidate but the practice is worth the effort.

7. Identify the thought or feeling that creates fear of sleeping and replace it with a pleasant memory. Every time the fear comes up replace the thought with a pleasant memory.

8. End the day with a smile or a sense of satisfaction or accomplishment for the small things you were able to accomplish.

9. Stop investing time in Watching News channels because all they show you is negative stuff.

10. Invest in activities that build your self-esteem. Activities like Volunteering help because you feel that you have helped someone, and they got some benefit.
