Yesterday I had a DM asking me if I could give tips to overcome Insomnia.
While on the face of it this is not a bad suggestion to ask for tips. But from my experience knowing these tips will not work.ย
You can get a ton of content on sleep hygiene as tips. But will it solve the problem ๐คท.ย
In 2019, I morphed the question as tips but eventually I wanted a sleeping pill.ย
This reminds me of a funny story, of a man searching for a key under the streetlight.ย
A passerby notices that the man was searching for something. With the intention to help he asks, “What are you searching for ๐?” The man replies, “I am searching for the key to my house.”ย
The passerby asks, “Where did you lose the key ๐?” The man replies, “I lost the key in the adjacent street.” The passerby then asks, “Why are you searching here?”
To this the man replies, “The adjacent street does not have a streetlight”.ย
So, in short stop โsearching for tips and try to introspect what is wrong with the way you approach sleepโ.
Fix your sleep rituals, work on the things that bother you and you should be good to overcome Insomnia.
